Swimmers / Nageurs
Today, after several days of autumnal weather, summer made an unexpected (and probably short-lived) comeback. We are a family of outdoor swimmers now. With conditions this calm and this warm, it would have been a crime not to go swimming in the sea.
So swimming we went. The water was cold, its temperature already decreasing as the days shorten. It may have been our last sea swim of the year, who knows?
Still, it felt like pressing the reset button for the soul.
Aujourd’hui, après plusieurs jours de météo résolument automnales, l’été a fait une apparition aussi brève qu’inattendue. Par un temps incroyablement calme et doux pour la saison, il eût été un crime de ne pas aller se baigner.
Alors une tête nous avons piquée ! Façon de parler, bien sûr : l’eau était froide, sa température déjà à la baisse comme les jours racourcissent inexorablement. Ce fut peut-être notre dernière baignade de l’année, qui sait ?
Ce fut comme d’appuyer sur le bouton “Rafraîchir”.

How wonderful, I’ve loved swimming in the sea this summer, I must say I’m back to a wetsuit now though.
