This privacy policy sets out how Four Acorns / Quatre graines de chêne uses and protects any information that you give while using https://www.annettevaucansonkelly.com or https://www.fouracorns.ie (referred to herein as this “website” or “site”). 

This site only contacts individuals who specifically request that the website owner do so or in the event that they have signed up to receive my free email communications.

Contact forms

This website uses plugins to create contact forms. These contact forms capture your name and email address. This data is used so that the website owner can reply to your queries to the site. I will not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes. I will never sell, barter, or rent your email address to any unauthorised third party.

Email list

Four Acorns / Quatre graines de chêne maintains an email mailing list of those who freely subscribe via a third-party server, in this case MailMunch/MailPoet. These emails are used by the website owner only to email blog newsletters, occasional updates, and promotional content. You are free to unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of your newsletter emails.

Your email will never be passed on to third parties by Four Acorns / Quatre graines de chêne.

Newsletter

If you have subscribed to our newsletter, there is a good chance you will receive emails from us.
We will only send you emails which you have signed up to receive, or which pertain to the services we provided to you. To send you emails, we use the name and email address you provide us. This site also logs the IP address you used when you signed up for the service to prevent abuse of the system.

This website can send emails through the MailPoet sending service. This service allows us to track opens and clicks on our emails. We use this information to improve the content of our newsletters.

No identifiable information is otherwise tracked outside this website except for the email address.

Competitions & giveaways

This site  may run regular competitions and giveaways. In order to facilitate these, competition entrants will be required to supply certain information. This includes but is not limited to: full name, email address, and full postal address.

Full postal addresses of winners will be shared with brands where necessary to ensure delivery of your prize. As such, supplying of full postal address is necessary to enter any competitions on this site. Your details will never be shared with anyone other than the brand supplying the prize for the giveaway or competition which you enter. I take steps to ensure that prize suppliers are GDPR compliant and do not use your details for any other reason than to provide your prize, but Four Acorns / Quatre graines de chêne is not responsible for your details held by the brand once they have been passed on.

Email addresses supplied during the entering of competitions and giveaways are used solely for the purposes of contacting winners. Your details are never added to mailing lists or shared with any third parties unless necessary.

The sharing of full name, email address, and full postal address is required in order to facilitate competitions and giveaways, and therefore the collection of this information is granted legally under the GDPR base of ‘contract’ As such, if you are not happy to share your full name, email address, and full postal address, I will be unable to continue with your competition or giveaway entrance.

In the event that the online software I use to facilitate competitions and giveaways (https://www.rafflecopter.com) incurs a security breach, I will notify the ICO within 72 hours of being aware of the breach. I will endeavour to notify all competition entrants for whom I have details as soon as is reasonably and safely practicable.

You may request to have your details removed from my database and competition software any time after the competition or giveaway has ended by contacting me at admin@fouracorns.ieYou may also request your details to be removed from the competition widget within the blog post which you entered through.

Pledge

We will not sell, lease or distribute your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting. But we will never sell or rent your email address or any other information to any third parties.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Four Acorns / Quatre graines de chêne allows comments to be added beneath all blog posts on this site. The information collected here, which may include names, email addresses and/or website URLs, will not be added to our mailing list, nor will it ever be passed on or shared with third parties.

The owner of this site reserves the right to edit or delete any comments submitted to this blog without notice due to, but not limited to:

This information is not provided in a personally-identifiable format. This means the website owner cannot identify what information is about you, and will never attempt to do so.

This site also includes links to websites Four Acorns / Quatre graines de chêne  recommends or works with on a collaborative basis, and provides access to products and services offered by third parties, whose privacy policies I do not control. Some of the links I provide are “affiliate links”. This means if you click on the link and purchase the item connected to that link, I will receive a small affiliate commission at no cost you. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

We keep contact form entries for six months, analytics records for a year, and customer purchase records for ten years.

Opting out and managing your information with us
